Bupa Hong Kong Introduces New Diagnostics and Imaging Centre with Quality HealthCare, Expanding Healthcare Services in Hong Kong    

[Hong Kong – 7 November 2023]&nbsp;As a major primary healthcare provider in Hong Kong, Quality HealthCare Medical Services Limited (QHMS) is committed to supporting the local primary healthcare Chronic Disease Co-Care Pilot Scheme (CDCC Pilot Scheme) to be launched on 13 November 2023. &nbsp;53 doctors of QHMS have participated in the scheme, representing almost one-fifth (16%) of the total number of participating doctors in Hong Kong.&nbsp;&nbsp;“We are dedicated to easing the strain on Hong Kong’s primary healthcare system and ensuring public access to healthcare services. Our commitment is reflected in our active support of the Government’s primary healthcare blueprint and chronic disease management initiative,&nbsp;emphasising a&nbsp;‘Prediction, Prevention and Treatment’ approach,” said Elaine Chu, General Manager of QHMS.&nbsp;“Furthering our support to&nbsp;promote the ‘Family Doctor For All’ concept, we are also fully committed to facilitate the launch of the CDCC Pilot Scheme and development in the local primary healthcare services. This aims to support the prevention of diseases and management of chronic diseases at an early stage.&nbsp;&nbsp;QHMS recognises the instrumental role of digital technology in fostering a sustainable primary healthcare system. To this end, it has enhanced its patient portal, Quality HealthCare mobile app, in October embracing a comprehensive digital transformation process that combines online-to-offline solutions. The upgrade provides convenient access to information related to the CDCC Pilot Scheme, PPP, and related programmes, as well as checking the remaining balance of the Health Care Vouchers and the addition of personalised health assessment tools. As of September 2023, the mobile app has garnered over 300,000 user registrations, showcasing a remarkable growth of nearly double (92%) from 2020 to 2022.&nbsp;In addition, QHMS is in support of the government's forthcoming "eHealth+" initiative, which aims to create personalised eHealth accounts for residents, centralising electronic medical records from both the public and private sectors. QHMS has established a system with "eHealth" to&nbsp;facilitate the exchange of records between the government and&nbsp;QHMS patients, enabling the sharing of medication history, drug allergy information, and vaccination records. With the patient's consent, relevant data will be uploaded to the electronic health system, granting healthcare providers to access to and share the patient’s medical records within the system for healthcare-related purposes.&nbsp;“In the wake of the pandemic, heightened public awareness of health has reshaped the demand for primary healthcare services. With a steadfast commitment to meeting the diverse needs of citizens in our city, we continuously strive to improve and enhance&nbsp;our services. Our primary objective is to cater to the healthcare needs of patients and caretakers while effectively reducing the burden on Hong Kong’s healthcare system,” said Dr. Chow Yat, Executive Medical Director of QHMS.&nbsp;Data reveals growing need in primary healthcare services&nbsp;Doctors of QHMS promptly joined the GOPC PPP upon its launch in 2014. Over the past five years, the number of patients visiting QHMS for doctor consultations has nearly tripled, with a remarkable increase of 271% from 3,342 treatments in 2018 to 12,045 treatments in 2022. This highlights the continued demand within the community and evident success in alleviating the pressure on the Hospital Authority (HA) to&nbsp;deliver general outpatient clinic services. As of October 2023, a total of 3,108 patients have already benefited from the GOPC PPP by seeking doctor consultations at QHMS, representing an approximate 10% increase compared to the full year of 2022. It is anticipated that the number of patients served by QHMS’ doctors will continue to grow.&nbsp;&nbsp;Additionally, there has been a substantial surge in the uptake of non-COVID-19 vaccines from 2021 and 2022. In 2022/23, the number of individuals receiving seasonal influenza vaccines by doctors at QHMS through the Vaccination Subsidy Scheme reached 30,164, indicating a 35% year-on-year increase,&nbsp;nine percentage points higher than the overall 26% year-on-year increase in seasonal influenza vaccine uptake across Hong Kong<a href="#_ftn1">[1]</a>. Additionally, the number of individuals aged 65 or above receiving pneumococcal vaccines by QHMS’ doctors through the Vaccination Subsidy Scheme has surged to 1,516, equivalent to a rise of 85% in comparison to the previous year. This growth rate surpasses the government’s 53% increase in pneumococcal vaccines uptake among individuals aged 65 and above through the Government Vaccination Programme (GVP) and the Vaccination Subsidy Scheme<a href="#_ftn2">[2]</a>.&nbsp;Ms Chu added, “Digital technology in healthcare is revolutionising patient care by enhancing access to information, these advancements reflect a commitment to meeting the evolving needs of customers.”&nbsp;In the future, QHMS will continue to prioritise alleviating the burden on the local primary healthcare system and promoting wellbeing for all. [Hong Kong –&nbsp;4 August 2022] Bupa Hong Kong announces its official relocation to its new head office located in the Quayside, in one of Hong Kong’s popular business district, Kowloon East.&nbsp;&nbsp;The newly built head office will house three of Bupa’s business lines based in Hong Kong, across domestic health insurance (Bupa Asia Limited), international health insurance (Bupa Global), and health services (Quality HealthCare). Quality HealthCare announces brand evolution to practice the new future of healthcare - Unveiling QHMS’ all-rounded digital healthcare ambition with the grand opening of its first-ever smart clinic

​Hong Kong, 9 November 2021 – Quality HealthCare Medical Services Limited (QHMS) announced today the launch of a partnership with Watsons Hong Kong bringing customers convenient access to QHMS' professional Chinese medicine services through Watsons' extensive network. The first of these Chinese medicine centres is officially opened this month in the Watsons flagship store on Yun Ping Road in Causeway Bay. QHMS provides Chinese medicine outpatient services and treatments in the clinic, and will launch more Chinese medicine centres in Watsons stores, working hand-in-hand with Watsons to promote preventive Chinese medicine and look after customers' health.&nbsp;The Chinese medicine centre on Yun Ping Road has fully adopted QHMS' modernised operations and management, and accepts medical cards for cashless treatment. HKT partners with Quality HealthCare to launch mental health and psychiatric video consultations - First healthcare partner to offer specialist services on the DrGo platform

Hong Kong, 1 March 2021 – Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Quality HealthCare (QHMS) has been committed to providing professional medical services for people in Hong Kong. We have successively launched virus testing services, video consultations and various infection control practices in addition to supporting a series of government initiatives to jointly combat the pandemic. Now, with the launch of the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme by the government, QHMS is pleased to play our part and will be operating one of the larger Community Vaccination Centres in the Kwai Tsing district through public private collaboration, as well as providing vaccination in our clinics through our QHMS mobile app booking function.&nbsp;In line with government requirements, the Community Vaccination Centre in Osman Ramju Sadick Memorial Sports Centre, Kwai Tsing district to be operated by QHMS will open on 6 March and have 16 to 20 vaccination stations. QHMS will arrange for over 35 medical professionals at the centre, ensuring a sufficient number of doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals are present to explain the vaccination process, handle vaccination procedures, observe recipients for any physical reactions post-vaccination, and deliver the daily capacity of 2,500 to 3,000 vaccination jabs. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In terms of vaccination in private clinics, nearly 70 doctors from Quality HealthCare have joined the programme to provide in-clinic services. Starting from 3 March, the public will be able to make an appointment via the QHMS mobile app and receive reminders accordingly. Moreover, a designated hotline (8100 1094) has been established for the public to listen to information about COVID-19 vaccine and how to make appointments via QHMS mobile app.&nbsp;A number of measures to better facilitate vaccination procedures in our QHMS clinics will be implemented. 香港，2017年5月11日 – 卓健醫療(卓健)一直關註市民健康，並以公私營合作方式支持及參與「大腸癌篩查先導計劃」。卓健綜合分析截至本年3月31日的數據，發現於第一及第二階段中在大便隱血測試結果呈陽性的比率，分別為13.8%及9.4%，屬偏高水平。而在卓健於2016年的內部數據中，60歲或以上的男性在同一測試結果呈陽性的比率為5.29%，而女性比率更稍高，為5.36%，一反公眾以為大腸癌是「男人病」的錯覺。卓健提醒合資格市民，不分男女，應盡早參加「大腸癌篩查先導計劃」作檢查，以及早醫治和提高治療成效。&nbsp;衛生署去年9月28日展開為期三年的「大腸癌篩查先導計劃」(下稱「計劃」)，以協助找出患癌風險較高或已經患大腸癌的人士。計劃以公私營協作模式推行，繼第一階段計劃先資助1946至1948年期間出生的人士，第二階段亦已於本年2月27日起推行。807名第一階段人士及440名第二階段人士通過卓健的基層醫療醫生進行大便隱血測試，結果呈陽性的比率分別為13.8%及9.4%，屬偏高水平。卓健期後一共為84名第一階段人士作大腸鏡檢查，當中72人發現有瘜肉，佔總數86%；另為7名第二階段人士作大腸鏡檢查，5人發現有瘜肉。於發現瘜肉個案中，共7 宗經化驗後證實患大腸癌。數據亦顯示，第一階段的首月參與人數為160人，第二階段則為320人，升幅差不多達一倍。&nbsp;卓健執行醫務總監周一醫生表示:「參與先導計劃的人數大幅增加，反映有更多合資格人士認識計劃，並會主動找基層醫生檢查，可見政府推廣計劃半年以來，達致一定成效。政府可考慮讓計劃進一步『年輕化』，並加強推廣宣傳，讓公眾加深認識計劃，惠及更多香港市民。」&nbsp;另外，卓健亦於2016年為5,763名15至90歲參加體格檢查的病人進行大便隱血測試，發現50歲或以上人士呈陽性的比率，男性為4.05%，女性為2.28%，對比總體相關比率2.26%及1.46%明顯較高。男性群組在測試結果中呈陽性的比率一直比女性高，但到60歲或以上，男女群組的相關比率相若，男性為5.29%，女性則為5.36%。而兩者比率都超過5%，均屬於高危。周一醫生表示:「以往年紀較大的女性或較多關註乳癌、子宮頸癌等女性疾病，不過是次數據顯示，大腸癌並不是『男人病』，建議女性亦應盡早檢查。雖然『大腸癌篩查先導計劃』暫時只覆蓋1946至1951年出生的人士，但根據我們的內部數據及臨床經驗，建議50歲或以上人士亦應作定期檢查。」&nbsp;於卓健為最多病人進行大腸癌檢查的外科專科醫生伍梓奇則指出，約1%瘜肉會出現癌前病變，並演化為癌癥。參加「大腸癌篩查先導計劃」的市民沒有任何病徵，警覺性或因此較低，較大機會找到瘜肉，而且瘜肉通常比較大，容易找到大於10毫米的瘜肉，並較容易出現癌前病變。伍醫生說：「計劃開展初期，我們檢查的首十多名人士，全部發現瘜肉。計劃的目的，就是要讓未察覺有問題、沒有病徵的人士盡早發現病變，從而接受治療，減低健康風險。因此從目前的臨床經驗而言，計劃表現符合預期。早期檢查及診斷可及早醫治，亦令治療更容易，對病人的心理、生理都有好處，也可減低醫療開支。」

大腸癌非男性專利 合資格男女應盡早參加「大腸癌篩查先導計劃」(Chinese Version Only)

​香港，2016年8月9日 – 都市人常見的慢性疾病如心臟病、糖尿病等，除了基因的因素外，大多與生活和飲食習慣關係密切。定期進行體格檢查，有助及早察覺潛在健康風險，然而大部分人對此認知不多，未能把握時機進行有效的健康管理。&nbsp;卓健醫療服務有限公司(下稱卓健醫療) 檢視超過22,000個年齡介乎18至65歲，於2014年7月至2015年6月期間到卓健進行體檢的個案，進行已去識別化的數據分析，以年齡組別及性別切入，評估6項重要健康指數: 體重指標(BMI)、空腹血糖、總膽固醇、高密度膽固醇(俗稱「好膽固醇」)、低密度膽固醇(俗稱「壞膽固醇」)及三酸甘油脂。內分泌及糖尿科專科醫生利一指出，數據顯示港人的多項指數超標情況顯著。其中男士於多項指數均跑輸女士。此外，31歲成健康「轉捩點」，擁有兩項或以上指數超標的人數隨年齡上升。以上結果顯示患上慢性疾病如心臟病或糖尿病、甚或中風等的風險增加。&nbsp;6大指數整體超標人數隨年齡上升研究發現，BMI及總膽固醇各錄得近五成個案超標，壞膽固醇亦有近四成人士超標。各項指數的超標比率隨年齡上升，其中體重指標、總膽固醇及壞膽固醇的升幅較為顯著。&nbsp;男士多項指數跑輸女士研究同時發現，男士比女士面對的健康風險更高。以BMI為例，每10個男士就有7個超標，超標情況較女士多逾一倍；男士空腹血糖的超標情況亦同樣比女士多一倍；更值得關注的是，男士三酸甘油脂的超標情況較女士多近三倍。&nbsp;2項或以上指數同時超標者大有人在近三成半年齡31-40歲組別人士擁有兩項或以上指數超標，即每三個人便有一個有以上情況，相較年齡介乎21-30歲的組別，升幅逾八成(見圖1)。&nbsp;圖1: 不同年齡組別、擁有兩項或以上指數超標人數之百分比<figure class="image"><img src="/uploads/graph1_ada66d512b.jpg"></figure>另外，21-30歲組別中BMI略為超標的人士，相較同年齡組別BMI少於23的人士，逾兩成半於餘下的5項指數中，擁有兩項或以上指數超標，當中增幅逾九成(見圖2)。&nbsp;圖2: 不同BMI、年齡組別及擁有兩項或以上指數超標人數之百分比<figure class="image"><img src="/uploads/graph2_4b6f9f29d5.jpg"></figure>百份比 =&nbsp; 兩項或以上指數超標 人數 (空腹血糖/總膽固醇/好膽固醇/壞膽固醇/三酸甘油脂)&nbsp;÷&nbsp;特定BMI及年齡 組別 人數 &nbsp;不容忽視的是，在BMI少於23的總體個案、並擁有兩項或以上其他指數超標的人士中，每3人便有1人的壞膽固醇超標，每4人便有1人的總膽固醇超標。&nbsp;30歲起定期作體格檢查卓健醫療內分泌及糖尿科專科醫生利一表示:「定期體格檢查是健康管理的重要一環。然而，大部分人對此認知不多，未能及早發現潛在風險，進行有效的健康管理，甚至錯過治療的黃金時間。最典型的個案，是正值壯年、30出頭的上班一族，因為長期工作繁忙，作息不定時又缺乏運動，從沒察覺自己已受高膽固醇威脅，到自覺身體出現毛病時才求醫，除了需從生活習慣及飲食管理著手外，較嚴重的更需要服食降膽固醇藥物控制病情。另外亦需要注意的是，有不少體型適中甚至瘦削的上班一族，以為BMI正常則代表身體健康，但其實總膽固醇壞膽固醇指數同樣有機會超標，暗藏危機。」利醫生建議，從今次研究顯示，BMI正常人士可考慮於30歲作第一次包括血脂及血糖檢驗的體格檢查。由於各項高危因素不達標風險隨年齡增加，若然首次檢驗結果正常，可於五年後再覆檢。若然BMI超過23，則可考慮早於20多歲時已作首次檢查，及早了解身體狀況。&nbsp;飲食著手 減低健康風險註冊營養師佘綺玲指，近年三十多歲男士需要飲食管理的個案明顯增加，部分人外表瘦削，卻有大肚腩，三酸甘油脂指數亦偏高。「一些常見的健康飲食迷思，可能成為指數超標的『元兇』。例如: 誤以為多吃水果及飲果汁是健康之舉，但其實攝入太多果糖可引致血糖上升並致肥，結果可能比進食蛋糕和甜品更差。其次，以餅乾和麵包取代糖果、朱古力等零食，看似比較健康，事實是餅乾和麵包含高澱粉質，易致血糖、三酸甘油脂上升。不少人認為工作繁忙，於兩餐儘量多吃以免捱餓，但吃得太飽亦易引致上述指數上升。」佘綺玲更補充，胡亂戒吃肉類、海鮮、蛋黃等，未必有助控制膽固醇:「不吃肉類，為了飽肚反而吃下更多飯麵等高澱粉質食物，效果適得其反，亦可能令蛋白質吸收不足。壞膽固醇或會下降，但三酸甘油脂則會上升，增加肥胖或動脈硬化等風險。而海鮮及蛋黄等食物中天然存在的膽固醇對我們身體不會有太大影響，反之酥皮麵包、油炸食物等的高飽和脂肪及反式脂肪會直接轉化成壞膽固醇，影響健康。」佘綺玲建議，從管理飲食著手，配合適量運動，可望減低上述6大指標的超標風險。&nbsp;<ul><li style="text-align:justify;">適量攝取5大類食物 (蔬菜、水果、穀物、蛋白質、健康脂肪)</li><li style="text-align:justify;">正餐少鹽少糖少油</li><li style="text-align:justify;">兩餐之間謝絕無益零食，以適量水果、果仁取代</li><li style="text-align:justify;">以低糖或無糖飲料取代汽水、果汁</li><li style="text-align:justify;">適量運動，每天至少步行8,000步 &nbsp;</li></ul><figure class="image"><img src="/uploads/infographic_final_20160804_v2_237937e38c.jpg"></figure>

卓健逾22,000體檢個案健康風險研究 - 31歲成健康「轉捩點」: 超標情況顯著上升 男比女風險更高 (Chinese Version Only)

回應衛生署最新公布之大腸癌篩查先導計劃 ( Chinese Version Only )

卓健支持普通科門診公私營協作計劃　增備更多藥物選擇　盼惠及近千名病人 ( Chinese Version Only )

As Hong Kong enters the seasonal influenza peak season, severe flu cases and deaths continue to rise. The Centre for Health Protection earlier predicted that the seasonal influenza peak season will last until April.
