We proactively take care of our people, their families, the environment, and the community.&nbsp;&nbsp;In 2021 summer, Quality HealthCare and Bupa people collected 80kg of waste on a beach in Ha Pak Nai, Yuen Long, as part of our campaign, “One Health”.&nbsp;&nbsp;A variety of waste was found, namely cigarettes, polyfoam particles, plastic bottles and fishing nets. The activity contributed data to The Green Earth’s annual research on beverage bottles. The research aims to reduce Hong Kong’s waste coming from suppliers.&nbsp;&nbsp;We're here to improve the health of people and the planet. Our 'One Health' mission is a step towards a truly sustainable life.

As a result of this, schools are seeing a further increase in mental health issues among students and teachers.&nbsp;To help both schools and student’s alike, we’ve introduced a new card game in our clinics and for employees to help start a conversation about mental health.&nbsp;"(let’s beak it down card game) It’s a simple and user-friendly tool to help my clients to engage in thoughtful conversations, regardless if they come from different cultures, background, and ages.&nbsp;&nbsp;I’ve used it to facilitate discussions with families who have teenage children over the past several weeks with great feedback. The wording is easy to understand and the scenarios are realistic. My favorite scenarios is ‘think about how you would react if Ocean Park was closed upon arrival.’"&nbsp;– Ms. Kate Tong, Registered Psychologist&nbsp;Good health matters to everyone, after all. Both the video toolkits and digital version of the card game “let’s break it down” are available for download for free. Introducing Mental Health card game “let’s break it down” in our clinics

<figure class="image image-style-align-center image_resized" style="width:50%;"><img src="/uploads/Dignity_Kitchen_retouched_ded4c5b685.jpg" alt="Volunteer to help those in need at Christmas"></figure>Supporting the local communities where we live and work in Hong Kong has never been more important.&nbsp;&nbsp;Quality HealthCare is committed to encouraging our people to&nbsp;volunteer their work hours to help with this worthwhile cause.&nbsp;To wrap up the year of 2020, we helped&nbsp;<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/company/dignitykitchenhk/">Dignity Kitchen Hong Kong&nbsp;厨尊</a> pack and distribute over 500 bento boxes and face masks to those in need in Mongkok.&nbsp;Dignity Kitchen, a restaurant based in Mongkok, provides training and employment opportunities for people living with physical and mental disabilities through promoting Singaporean food. The social enterprise has worked with underprivileged communities for the past ten years, so we’re proud to finish the year playing a small part in their legacy.

Dignity Kitchen: Volunteer to help those in need at Christmas

<figure class="image image-style-align-center image_resized" style="width:50%;"><img src="/uploads/High_Five_Pen_Pal_2_high_res_chopped_d31676317b.jpg" alt="Elderly female patient conducting video chat via Temi robot"></figure>We understand the importance of both physical and mental health for all.&nbsp;In May 2020, we connected our employees and the community with a new volunteering experience due to the COVID-19 outbreak.&nbsp;Our people and their families virtually visited their pen pals with a little help from Temi, a robot living at Hong Kong Society for the Blind. The visits included singing together, playing the piano, and getting to know one another, all through a screen.&nbsp;&nbsp;It helped us to connect with the community of Hong Kong and reduced the feeling of distance between us. High Five Pen Pal: Connecting the community with volunteering and technology

<figure class="image image-style-align-center image_resized" style="width:50%;"><img src="/uploads/IMG_1340_8486783b17.JPG" alt="Community education with HKYWCA"></figure>Quality HealthCare is devoted to supporting the community through education by partnering with groups such as HKYWCA.&nbsp;<ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Elderly Wellness Day: We provided free body tests such as blood pressure, blood lipid profile, blood glucose level, blood oxygen level and atrial fibrillation tests to over 100 members of HKYWCA elderly centres in Sai Wan and Tsing Yi. We also donated Atrial Fibrillation (AF) digital devices to the HKYWCA centres to help identify symptoms with a potential risk of causing stroke or other serious heart diseases. It also helped to promote preventive healthcare with the use of health tech in the community.</li></ul>&nbsp;<ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Advocating sustainability and health: Quality HealthCare and HKYWCA organised different workshops to connect our people, their family members and the community with the planet's health. To mark World Environment Day 2018, our volunteers spent the summer with 30 senior friends and their carers from the North District in a DIY workshop. By creating hand-made organic mosquito-repelling bars, mosquito sprays and deodorants, they had fun and applied the eco-friendly principles into their daily life in summertime.</li></ul>
